Education is very important at Park Avenue UMC. It is through education that we grow and mature as Christians. We aim to help children develop and become active and positive members of our church and throughout their lives. We offer a variety of programs to enrich your child’s education.
Sunday school begins during 11 AM worship. Children are asked to join the congregation in the sanctuary and come forward for the Children’s Message. Teachers and staff then escort them to Sunday school. Each child is placed in a grade appropriate group.
Child Care is also available during our 9 AM worship service and Choir rehearsals. Please contact Liz in the church office for more information: Liz@paumcnyc.org, 212-427-5421.

Park Avenue Methodist Day School
Since 1953, PAMDS has remained true to a play-based model. This small gem of a non-sectarian school has a warm, welcoming community that has educated generations of families. Our mission is to create a lifelong love of learning through hands-on experience and critical thinking. PAMDS’ experienced and dedicated teachers provide individualized instruction while fostering teamwork and cooperative play. Children are encouraged to take risks, learn from mistakes, and problem solve in an environment of mutual respect and trust. Aside from reading and writing readiness, our goal is to send children off to kindergarten with self-confidence, creativity, independence, and compassion. Research has shown that play has a direct positive impact on cognitive, social/emotional, and physical development, which in our experience is the foundation for successful learning.
