United Methodist Hymnal #334
Sweet, Sweet Spirit

There’s a sweet, sweet spirit in this place,
and I know that it’s the Spirit of the Lord;
There are sweet expressions on each face,
and I know they feel the presence of the Lord.

Sweet, Holy Spirit, sweet heavenly Dove,
stay right here with us, filling us with your love;
And for these blessings we lift our hearts in praise
without a doubt we’ll know that we have been revived
when we shall leave this place.

*Call to Worship

Jennifer Jacob

We gather today to bear witness to the great things that God has done.
How wonderful are your works, O Lord!

The Spirit is upon us, anointing us to share the good news.
Here we are, O Lord. Send us!

God has raised up the righteous and set forth a covenant with us.
O Lord, we will serve you today and forevermore.

Blessed is the one who seeks the Lord!
Blessed is the one who walks in the light of God!

United Methodist Hymnal #430
O Master, Let Me Walk with Thee

O Master, let me walk with thee
in lowly paths of service free;
tell me thy secret; help me bear
the strain of toil, the fret of care.

Help me the slow of heart to move
by some clear, winning word of love;
teach me the wayward feet to stay,
and guide them in the homeward way.

Teach me thy patience; still with thee
in closer, dearer company,
in work that keeps faith sweet and strong,
in trust that triumphs over wrong.

In hope that sends a shining ray
far down the future’s broadening way,
in peace that only thou canst give,
with thee, O Master, let me live.

Proclamation

Prayer of the Day

Isaiah Fish

O Lord, you are loving, merciful, and just. You journey with those who wander and comfort those who are burdened with grief. Grant us the faith this day to believe that you will provide a future where we cannot see a way forward, that any bitterness may turn to joy and barrenness may bear life. Through Christ we pray in the power of your Spirit. Amen.

Prayers of the People

Give us good intention. Lord, hear our prayer.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

Sending Forth

*Closing Hymn

United Methodist Hymnal #292
What Wondrous Love is This

What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul,
what wondrous love is this, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this
that caused the Lord of bliss
to bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul,
to bear the dreadful curse for my soul.

What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul,
what wondrous love is this, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this, that caused the Lord of life
to lay aside his crown for my soul, for my soul,
to lay aside his crown for my soul.

To God and to the Lamb I will sing, I will sing,
to God and to the Lamb, I will sing;
to God and to the Lamb who is the great I AM,
while millions join the theme I will sing, I will sing;
while millions join the theme I will sing.

And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on,
and when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on;
and when from death I’m free, I’ll sing and joyful be,
and through eternity I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on,
and through eternity I’ll sing on.
