You will be enriched in every way for your great generosity, which will produce thanksgiving to God through us; for the rendering of this ministry not only supplies the needs of the saints but also overflows with many thanksgivings to God. — 2 Corinthians 9:11-12 (NRSV)

Like many churches, businesses, and industries, PAUMC will struggle to meet its budgeted financial goals this year. The impact of COVID-19 continues to be severe, and we will need to stretch as never before.

I hope you will join us for our annual Fall Fundraiser on Saturday, October 23rd (details to follow) and make as generous a pledge as possible on Laity Sunday, October 17th, when we launch our 2022 Stewardship Campaign. If you wish to go ahead and make your pledge, you can do so online at

One advantage we have is that there are many of us, and another advantage is our faith. As Christians, we believe God is the source of all good gifts, and it is our responsibility to be good stewards of things entrusted to our care – like one another, the physical church building, and various ministries we can offer to our neighbors and community. All of our gifts together will help to bring transformation, healing, and hope to the world.

Please pledge according to what your heart desires for PAUMC and its future, and trust that God will give you your heart’s desire. Your 2022 pledge commitment by Sunday, November 7th will also help us be able to plan responsibly.

Beloved, God meets us in the common and ordinary—a cup of coffee, a child’s smile, a walk in the park. And God also surely meets us in our attempts to be faithful, sacrificial, generous, loving, and true.

It occurs to me that now more than ever, people need the inspiration, love, support, and hopefulness PAUMC can offer. As always, I believe that we will rise to the challenges that face us and emerge stronger on the other side. “We have come this far by faith, and it is our faith will lead us on.”

Grace and peace,
Pastor Cathy
